Prélude à la saison estivale
Henri-Franck Beaupérin récital d’orgue
As a prelude to the 42nd season of the Heures musicales de Cunault, Henri-Franck Beaupérin will perform a recital on the organ of the Prieurale.
Henri-Franck Beaupérin is one of the most unique organists of his generation. Through his vast repertoire, his art of improvisation, and his proposals for a forward-looking instrument, he invites us to take a fresh look at the organ.
A disciple of Gaston Litaize, he also studied with Michel Chapuis, Olivier Latry, Michel Bouvard, Loïc Mallié, and Jean-Claude Raynaud at the Paris Conservatoire and completed his training with Jean Boyer, Louis Robilliard, Thierry Escaich, Ton Koopman, and Jean Guillou.
A winner of the Tokyo and Lahti International Competitions, he won the Improvisation Prize at the Franz Liszt Competition in Budapest, and in 1995, unanimously awarded the Grand Prix for Interpretation at the first International Competition of the City of Paris. Since then, he has been a guest at numerous festivals: the Paris Sacred Art Festival, Toulouse-les-Orgues, Avignon Festival, St-Céré Festival, Chartres, Leipzig, Tokyo, and Montreal.
Organist emeritus of Angers Cathedral and organist of the great organ of Sylvanès Abbey, he is the author of organ transcriptions that have been recorded on several CDs.
Very interested in organ building and its future, he is the designer of Gulliver, a computer-assisted modular organ. This instrument, a truly large pipe organ that can be transported anywhere and made accessible to the public, heralds new concert styles and an innovative musical approach.

Trio SR9 ensemble de marimbas
Paul Changarnier, Alexandre Esperet, and Nicolas Cousin invite us to revisit the works of J.S. Bach. Their transcriptions for marimbas introduce us to a new world of sounds, poetic and ingenious.
These three musicians discovered each other in the percussion class at the Conservatoire National de Musique et de Danse de Lyon. Together, they realized that it is possible to tackle all repertoires with just five octaves. Traversing time and the history of music, they work to transcribe and arrange classical and contemporary works for their favorite instrument, the marimba, a noble xylophone with rosewood slats.
The trio, which has won several international awards, has recorded several albums: BACH au marimba (Naïve 2015), Alors, on danse? (Naïve 2018), and Ravel Influence(s) (Evidence Classics 2022).

The idea for this show, specially adapted for the Cunault Priory in a version with organ, was born to echo the celebrations marking the 350th anniversary of the death of the most illustrious of musketeers. Founded in 2025 by former members of the ONPL and the Republican Guard Orchestra, the Brass and Percussion Ensemble of Anjou is composed of fifteen musicians.
